the world would be a different place…
When I started my business I was acutely aware of how much someone’s life would change by developing self love and acceptance. All the internal angst that’s created from seeking approval from others is alleviated, the belief that you need to ‘perform’ to be loved gone and in it’s place an immense freedom of knowing you are in control of your life and how you feel. You don’t need to accept others criticism, you don’t need to do what people think you ‘should’, you can spend more time being present because you free up so much space in your mind with useless stuff that only bogged you down. When I worked individuals, once their confidence shifted so did their relationships. Better healthier relationships came in to play, ones rooted in being real, upfront, honest and appreciated for who you are. There was no denying, one person’s life changed sense an immense ripple through the lives of others.
Every confident person silently giving permission to those around them to love and accept themselves too. Friends groups with more positive outlooks on life. Women and men better peers, colleagues, employers and lovers because they aren’t trying to hide who they are nor take their insecurity out on others. It breeds entirely different conversations, better outcomes for all and immensely healthier communities.
I would love to see the world where authentic confidence is seen as the clear conduit to social connectedness. Unfortunately we are living in a time where attempting to hide our actions, failing to be responsible and accountable are behaviours that are seen on the biggest of stages. The ugliness of a lack of confidence is rearing its head, monstrously. It’s easy to notice it if you just spend 5 minutes in local, national and global news. Those not feeling sure about how to address difficult world crises choose to take action that shows humanity’s weakness not it’s strength. World leaders and people in positon of great influence are dominating others and calling themselves powerful. But every single one of these actions are based on sheer insecurity. The problem with this is that insecure ‘power’ constantly needs approval, it needs to win the ego battle, it needs to win a popularity contest, it needs to be seen to be doing certain things because performance is the only way the insecure feel they can be loved. And when love isn’t gained even with performance utter internal and external rejection happens. ‘Why didn’t you love me, I did everything you asked?’ ‘Why am I still not good enough?’ ‘Why do I bother trying to be good in your eyes if I’ll never measure up?’
In 2026 I never thought I’d see another war happening across the globe but here we are. Insecurity is running the show. The ego is needing a boost and anyone who stands in the way of how someone could appear to look is collateral damage. We are seeing this insecurity create disrespect, harmful discourse and pain to individuals, family units and community groups. We are also seeing an increase in people wanting to hide how they feel about situations out of fear of retaliation by people they know, don’t know (thanks social media). We see an increase in ‘masking’ and ‘peacocking’. We see people refusing to talk to, befriend and even date someone who doesn’t think exactly like us. And those who are confident in who they are and have accepted themselves see a bucketload of fear.
Why hide things? Why waste energy in pretending something is what it isn’t? Why try and promote yourself as better than others? Why behave like their is no other solution than inflicting pain on others? It is hard to stop wars when those starting them are already at war with themselves. Insecurity doesn’t just drive a lack of love, broken relationships, the inflicting of pain, nor break down the social fabric of society it also shines a beacon on how significant peoples’ fears are & what lengths people will go to in order to appear strong, confident, in control. The truth is people see through that insecurity and that’s why they gravitate towards those doing good in the world, those who turn up as their best selves, as kind, loving and compassionate to others, those who see the world as an opportunity to put some good into it.
I firmly believe beyond the coaching, the public speaking and running events that this is why confidence coaching is so incredibly important. By helping one person to be their best, happiest, most peaceful self we start of ripple effect for others to do the same and that is a mission I am so damn passionate about.
